The swans are back !

cold, rain, sun, wind

about 1200 whoopers are now at Martin Mere, its a pleasure to sit and watch them flying in and out, especially around the 3 oclock feed





next job is to capture the feeding frenzy

A different sort of day (from yesterday)

Grey, heavy rain, blue light, lots of swans today, pintails gossiping, shovellers, ruff, redshanks, swans gathering for the feed.

A big sky day

A Mixed Bag

Martin Mere, lots of ducks, lots of Geese, something was lifting the geese for most of the few hours I was there, young Peregrine on the far posts and some talk of a Gooseander.

Bad back meant limited time on a cold hard bench !

A Grey Day

Sunday 18th October 2009.

Martin Mere looking for the swans, really atrocious light, very cold fingers, but thousands of Pinkfoots and Greylags, a small number of Teal, Mallards, two Pintails, lots of Lapwings
